How teams make the playoffs - 16 of 22 teams: the top 8 in each conference (West, East) by points.
Points and tiebreakers - 2 points for any win, 1 for an overtime or shootout loss, 0 for a regulation loss. Ties on points go to regulation wins (RW), then wins excluding shootouts and total wins (points % is not used, so a team with more games can rank higher).
